
Margaux Skalecki
Dance Teaching Artist
With a BFA Dance, MA in Expressive Therapies, Margaux Skalecki is a E Registered 500 Hour Yoga teacher for adults and children with the Yoga Alliance and a certified teacher of the 5 Rhythm’s Moving Meditation Practice ®.
She is the founder and director of Being Seen Being Heard® playful and profound possibilities of performance. The intergenerational dance theater performance ensemble is made up of seasoned and new performers from ages 5-85. Their primary stages have been The Dance Complex, The Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center, The Brookline Music School, Green Street Studios and The Brookline Community Center for the Arts.
For decades Margaux has created workshops and programs for children and adults, including Ants in the Pants Yoga and Dance for Kids ®, Dancing PranaYoga ®, Wild Women Dancing the Art of Dream Change and Dance Your Sacred Journey. Choreographer for West Side Story at the Windsor School, she choreographed concerts for 14 years at the Brookline School of Music. Margaux continues to teach, choreograph and co-direct at Smart Summers, Theater Arts in Brookline and throughout the Cambridge and Brookline Schools. Her extensive faculty positions include the Brookline Music School, The New School of Music, The Boston Conservatory, The Dance Complex, The Arlington Center, The Center at Westwood, Jose Matteo’s Dance Theater and La Scuola Internazionale di Danza.
Margaux was a Board Member of the Boston Dance Alliance and part of the inception of the Children’s Dance Festival. Commissioned to sing and perform for the Brookline TV network and Town Hall Meeting for the first opening ceremonies of 1st Light in Brookline, she and her students have performed in many venues throughout the years for 1st Light and a myriad of concerts. Margaux participated in the inception of Dance in the Schools in the early 1990s and joyfully continued teaching with the program through 2021.
