Alice Heller
Dance Teaching Artist
Alice Heller has been performing and teaching West African dance for twenty five years. She has also taught jazz, creative movement, hip hop, improvisational dance, internal martial arts, and Nia, a movement practice that draws from martial arts, dance, and healing arts. Alice earned her White Belt Nia certificate in 2011, Blue Belt in August 2013, and Brown Belt in August 2017. She has been a member of various dance groups in Boston including Aconcone directed by Ibrahim Camara and Under the Sun Dance and Drum led by Fatou Carol Sylla. Alice also dances with her own troupe, Teriya, formed in 2000. Alice enjoys sharing and igniting passion for African dance and culture through classes, workshops and drum/dance circles throughout Massachusetts.
